Japanese cat coffee shop is facing closure
RecordJapan reported on March 7 that pet coffee shops in Japan have become very popular recently, with special shops for poultry and reptiles in addition to pet coffee shops with common animals such as cats, puppies and rabbits. However, the Japanese government amended the pet curfew law under the Animal Care Law in June last year, putting these pet coffee shops in danger of closing down. The law, originally aimed at pet shops that sell animals at night, expressly forbids the display and sale of pets between 8pm and 8am.
