The first Yunnan Binchuan Zhukula Coffee Forum was held in Zhukula Village on the 17th. Yue Lisong, secretary of the Binchuan County CPC Committee, said that more than 100 years ago, French missionary Tian Deneng planted a coffee tree in Zhu Kula, which made Zhu Kula inextricably bound to coffee. In addition to growing coffee, the villagers also formed a tradition of brewing and drinking coffee.

At present, there are 1134 ancient coffee trees in 13 mu, of which 24 are over 100 years old, and the rest are more than 60 years old.

Chen Dexin, secretary general of the Yunnan Fine Coffee Association, believes that through this forum, we will promote industry-university-research cooperation, provide technical support for the sustained, healthy and stable development of the Zhukula coffee culture industry, properly handle the relationship between development and protection, and change the mode of industrial development. vigorously promote the development of Zhukula coffee culture tourism industry.

It is understood that Yunnan Province exported more than 100000 tons of coffee and its products (including roasted coffee and instant coffee powder) in 2016, with a value of about 472 million US dollars, an increase of 50% and 15% respectively over the same period last year. Among them, the weight and value of instant coffee powder increased by 29% and 65% respectively.
