On September 13, 2017 local time, Japan opened a cat cafe on the train. Kitten Cafe Sanctuary, a Japanese civic organization, has teamed up with Yoro Railway to open a cat cafe on the train from Ogaki to Ikeno. They hope to promote adoption of stray cats and tourism.
The 30 stray cats were allowed to have their own activities inside the train, and passengers had the opportunity to play with the cats during the more than two-hour drive.
