McDonald's pushed 2 yuan for coffee, but Starbucks raised its price.

While McDonald's is limited to offering two yuan special coffee (McCafe), Starbucks (Starbucks) quietly raised prices in places such as Southern California in early September, ranging from drop coffee to espresso by 10 to 30 cents.

Starbucks said in a statement that consumers in Southern California will increase the price of drop coffee by 10 cents to 20 cents and espresso by 10 cents to 30 cents depending on the size of the coffee they choose. As a result of these fee adjustments, customers are expected to increase their consumption by an average of 0.5%, but 90% of the beverage prices remain unchanged.

Surveys conducted in Orange County and Santa Ana show that consumers have recently spent 3.45 yuan on a medium latte, 1.95 yuan on a drop of coffee and 3.95 yuan on a medium mocha.

A Starbucks spokesman did not say whether the reason for the price increase was related to California's increase in the minimum wage. The minimum wage in California will increase every year. In 2022, the minimum wage will be 15 yuan per hour, and the minimum wage over the age of 26 will be raised to 11 yuan per hour in 2018.

Customers can find meaningful value in other ways, including participating in the Starbucks incentive program, the statement said.

McDonald's plans to launch three new espressos, including cappuccino, Americano and caramel Macchiato, in 600 restaurants in Southern California.

The restaurant is also equipped with a high-quality espresso machine to produce more creamy foam, and McDonald's offers 2.12 ounces of ice or hot drinks for a limited time to promote the McCafe series.
