Qao Q is all said in the coffee circle. Recently, I heard that the youngest Q-Grader is only 13 years old.

This young Q, the youngest Q-Grader in China and even in the world, besides the youngest Q, there are more post-00s who have developed deeply in the coffee circle.

Rather than watching TV and playing games at home, parents are more willing to give their children training courses to enrich their extracurricular activities.

In terms of knowledge system, the understanding of fine coffee can be said to cover the development of geography, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and even the upstream of the coffee industry.

Will the parents have any questions about whether children can drink coffee? Or at what age can you start drinking? Let's see what the experts say.

Japan's benesse Education Information Network, citing information from the all-Japan Coffee Association, pointed out that when children are over the age of 12 and 15 and weigh more than 50 kilograms, when they are on a par with adults, it is basically no big deal to drink one cup of coffee a day. For children over 6 years old, the amount of coffee they drink can be reduced to 1 beat 4 of adults, and a little more milk can be added.

Generally speaking, caffeine begins to take effect within 15 minutes to 2 hours after the lower abdomen, and the effect lasts 2.5 to 4.5 hours. Children can even reach 6-8 hours. On the other hand, growth hormones are secreted only when they are asleep, so there is another thing to pay attention to when children drink coffee, that is, to avoid consuming too much caffeine and not to allow children to drink coffee in the evening, so as not to interfere with sleep and affect development.

For children, can you take the Q test? is there a threshold? There is no age or region in the Q test.

Popularize science, what is Q?

Q is the abbreviation of Q Arabica Grader (Arabica Coffee quality appraiser). The holder is also called Q-Grader, and the calendar belongs to CQI (Coffee Quality Institute).

In 2003, CQI (Coffee quality Association) launched the Arabica Coffee Q grader project, which grants professional certificates to coffee professionals and uses this system to grade and grade coffee. This is a project dedicated to the global standardization of coffee because it has been very subjective to analyze and evaluate coffee through the senses. What one person thinks of deep baking may be moderate baking in the eyes of another, or in one person's understanding, the taste is the taste of strawberry jam, while the same taste is blackcurrant, while others say it is. Therefore, CQI unifies the standard.

What is the purpose of Q-Grader?

ICP (In-Country Partner), the domestic coffee partners of different countries, can be helped globally to grade their local coffee and generate corresponding reports, which are displayed on the CQI website for reference by raw bean buyers.

In the field of coffee production, import, export and roasting, many people who design coffee quality control inspection have Q grader certification, and the certification system is of great help to the quality evaluation of raw beans.

What can be learned from the course?

The assessment of Q-Grader focuses on the quality testing of raw beans, roasting degree of coffee, coffee cup test, and sensory evaluation. It includes 8 items: smell bottle, raw bean grading, ripe bean grading, organic acid, sensory skills test, triangle cup test, cup test score, theory question written test.

The course has a total of 20 disciplines, covering coffee knowledge, smell, taste, coffee raw beans, cooked beans grading and other professional disciplines. Specifically:

Cup test scores of ① 2 major producing areas and 2 treatments, a total of 4 families

② triangle coffee cup test, a total of 4 families

③ olfactory sensory test (36 scented bottles to learn to use), a total of 4 subjects

④ taste sensory correction and test (sweet and salty acid and different strength identification), a total of 3 departments

⑤ coffee raw bean classification (including defective bean classification, classification system in-depth study), a total of 1 family

⑥ coffee cooked beans grading, a total of 1 family

⑦ organic acid discrimination test (four organic acids), a total of 1 subject

⑧ coffee related basic knowledge learning and written test, a total of 1 subject

⑨ baking degree test (four kinds of baking degree discrimination), a total of 1 department

How many days does it take to take the Q test?

Generally 9-11 days, formal courses are 3 days, formal examinations are 3 days, plus 3 days of preparatory study, a total of 9 days of courses, there are also some 11 days.

How long is the certificate valid?

Calculated from the first day of the official course, the validity period is 36 months. Within ±6 months before the validity period, you need to go through the formalities of renewal and correction, and the proofreading assessment will carry out three groups of coffee cup tests with distinctive characteristics. The participating Q-Grader must pass two groups of coffee cup tests to update their certification and qualifications as a Q-Grader. (it means that you have to correct it every three years, and of course you have to pay a fee.)

How much does it take to take the Q certificate?

Each institution is different, but the domestic test Q will not be less than 1W.

Is it difficult to take the Q?

The Q grader test is a dual assessment of mental and physical strength, and it is a process of physical and mental exhaustion. If you are not a person who is used to high-intensity cup testing, your taste buds and sensory organs will get tired faster during the training process. Instead of socializing or working during the test, devote yourself to the test. It is necessary to ensure full rest, regular diet, and make full mental and physical preparations.

More than eight hours of training and training every day should maintain a high degree of concentration and peace of mind.

What do you think of the Q test for children?
