A British low-cost airline Jet2 flight to the Spanish island of Tenerife on Sunday had to be diverted to land in Manchester due to lack of hot water to make tea and coffee on board. Many passengers complained that the holiday had been ruined before it began.

Jet2, a LS155 flight, was scheduled to fly from Glasgow, Scotland to Tenerife, then diverted to Cork in southern Ireland and landed in Manchester with firefighters on guard.

A spokesman for Jet2 explained that the flight had technical problems and could not provide hot water to make tea and coffee; passengers transferred to another plane at Manchester Airport to Tenerife Island.
