On May 24th, MANNER's official Weibo issued a letter of apology in response. In response, MANNER said that MANNER Coffee sincerely apologized to consumers for not properly taking 2 °C to 6 °C raw milk and failing to clean the back of the extra food safety seal during the guarantee and distribution period of the Wujiang Road store in Shanghai on April 30th. The store involved was closed and rectified as soon as it was notified. Although the stores involved suddenly experienced a sharp increase in the number of delivery orders that day, the larger the orders, the more they needed to adhere to the high standard of "bringing high-quality coffee into everyone's lives".

In this apology, MANNER was accused of avoiding the important points and taking it lightly. Zhu Danpeng, a researcher at the China Brand Research Institute, said in an interview with the Securities Daily that there is a big problem with the attitude of enterprises. From the perspective of response, enterprises are trying to cover up the problems in management and operation by secretly changing concepts and avoiding key points.
During a recent on-site inspection of the Wujiang Road No.1 store (MANNER COFFEE) of Shanghai Yinhe Industrial Co., Ltd., law enforcement officials of the Shanghai Market Regulatory Administration of Jing'an District found that the store had poor environmental hygiene and failed to store food in accordance with regulations.
At the scene, law enforcement officials found that waste confetti and stickers of packaged food were scattered on the ground in the food processing area of the store, and there was dirt on the floor, and the food bags for sale after packing were placed directly on the ground, which was at risk of pollution; two boxes of food raw materials that needed to be refrigerated and preserved, "Meiji milk", were placed on the floor of the store at will after opening the box. In addition, law enforcement officials also saw seven cases of unopened "Meiji milk" on the ground outside the store, and the clerk did not refrigerate the product label with 2 ℃-6 ℃.
However, in Manier's official response, it did not mention the hidden food safety problems such as the failure to use raw milk according to storage conditions and floor dirt that may contaminate the products. It was only replaced by "failing to properly access 2 ℃-6 ℃ raw milk in time and failing to clean the back of additional food safety seals in time", which was accused of avoiding important points and taking light measures.
