Until yesterday (July 28), Starbucks South Korea issued a public apology on its website, saying that there was formaldehyde in the products related to the incident because there was no safety inspection of the products before the event. The statement said that the relevant product manufacturers had indicated that the products contained formaldehyde when they delivered the products, but the relevant officials were not aware of this at the time of acceptance. The average amount of formaldehyde detected in the storage bag of Kaifeng for two months was 271mg/kg on the skin and 22mg/kg on the endothelium.

The test results are mentioned below. According to South Korea's Electrical Appliances and Household products Safety Management Law, the formaldehyde standard for home textiles is below 75mg/kg for underwear and heavy clothing, and below 300mg/kg for outerwear and bedding.
