On the morning of the 16th, Nong Fu Shan Quan commissioned a lawyer to send a letter asking the Consumer Council to apologize for the negative impact of the article on enterprises and make a written clarification. In the evening, Baisan, who was also caught in a storm of public opinion, also issued a statement, saying that "some reports misinterpret the test results, mislead consumers, and seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of the company."

After the two companies expressed their respective attitudes in a lawyer's letter and a solemn statement, the Hong Kong Consumer Council said that it had confirmed receipt of the lawyer's letter and would study and follow up. However, public opinion over the past two days has caused the share price of Nongfu Spring, which is listed in Hong Kong, to fall continuously, the lowest since September 2020, and the market capitalization has lost about 13.1 billion yuan in two days. Based on the huge economic losses caused by public opinion to enterprises, Nongfu Mountain Spring was not satisfied with the reply of the Hong Kong Consumer Council on the evening of the 16th, so he sent someone to Hong Kong yesterday afternoon to negotiate.

According to the financial website of Ming Pao, Han Linyou, executive director of Nongfu Mountain Spring, and his lawyer went to the headquarters of the Hong Kong Consumer Council yesterday afternoon to ask for a meeting with the person in charge, saying that if the Consumer Council does not apologize, the company will certainly pursue the matter to the end.

In a meeting with relevant people of the Consumer Council, Nong Fushanquan mentioned that enterprises had suffered excessive losses as a result of articles published by the Consumer Council. Therefore, he thinks that after confirming the use of the wrong standard, the Consumer Council should immediately apologize and clarify, hoping that the other side will not delay, "because the daily losses are so huge that the Consumer Council cannot ignore the interests of shareholders."

Subsequently, Nongfu Spring posted a message on various platforms saying "has been received" and replied: "the test results fully show that Nongfu Spring products fully meet the relevant standards and are safe to drink." it also said that Nongfu Spring will continue to provide safe and quality products and services for the Hong Kong market.

It is worth mentioning that, according to the opinion website, after the clarification statement was released today, the share price of Nongfu Spring rose, the increase expanded to 8%, and the total market value returned to more than HK $400 billion.
