Recently, a netizen said on the social platform that the owner of an online celebrity cafe in Huzhou had AIDS and passed it on to more than 100 people, all of whom had been checked out. Subsequently, a screenshot of the news spread rapidly on the Internet, and the screenshot instantly became local "hot news." some customers who had patronized this coffee shop were even more nervous, fearing that they would be "hit" for a while, causing panic in the whole city.

In the face of false accusations, the coffee shop owner, who could not bear the rumors, chose to report to the police and asked the police to intervene in the investigation, restore the truth and clear her reputation. In this regard, the network security detachment of the Huzhou Public Security Bureau acted quickly and found out the truth for the first time.

Police said the rumor originated from Shen in Huzhou. Surprisingly, Shen never knew the wife of the coffee shop owner in real life, and he only got this powerful "gossip" when he was chatting with a friend. Subsequently, out of the mentality of "gossip" and curiosity, Shen sent this unconfirmed news to a social group of more than 400 people, causing the rumor to spread rapidly and had a very bad social impact on the coffee shop owner and the local society.

According to Article 25 of the Law on Administrative penalties for Public Security, whoever spreads rumors, falsely reports the dangerous situation, epidemic situation, or police situation, or intentionally disturbs public order by other means shall be detained for not less than 5 days and not more than 10 days, and may also be fined not more than 500 yuan; if the circumstances are relatively minor, be detained for a maximum of five days or fined not more than 500 yuan.

After police investigation and verification, Shen's behavior has constituted a fictional fact to disturb public order. According to Article 25 of the Public Security Administration punishment Law of the people's Republic of China, Shen was administratively detained by public security organs for four days in accordance with the law.

Before that, there have been a number of rumors about coffee and coffee shops on the Internet. As early as 2018, an online article entitled "drinking Coffee causes Cancer" spread through Wechat moments with more than 10 million hits. The self-media that published the article carried out boundless "processing" of a US court decision and singled out Starbucks to create the "explosive article". After that, People's Daily, CCTV and other central-level media, as well as a number of popular science experts and nutritionists, have come forward to refute the rumors one after another.

According to a report by Jinan Internet Joint rumor refuting platform, on June 24 this year, a netizen said, "on June 21, Jinan, the two coffee shops made a lot of noise." it was because the customers were in a hurry to wait for coffee, quarreled with the clerk and said they wanted to complain. As a result, the clerk broke out and spilled coffee powder. After verification, the information spread on the Internet is a rumor, not an incident in Jinan.

In the announcement of the case, the police also took this opportunity to remind everyone that they should be cautious in online communication. Spreading rumors is illegal and will be punished by law, and serious circumstances will also bear criminal responsibility.

This cafe owner's AIDS rumor incident once again sounded the alarm for us. Internet rumors not only damage personal reputation, but also have a serious impact on social order. As netizens, we should abide by laws and regulations, ensure the authenticity of the content spread, and jointly maintain the harmony of the network environment.
