Recently, a former Seesaw employee revealed to the media that about 75 employees in Seesaw Shanghai were in arrears.

According to reports, a veteran employee who worked at Seesaw for two years and left in February this year said that when he joined the job in 2022, Seesaw promised him that the employee's salary would be made up of basic salary, bonus and morning and evening allowance, which would be paid on time every month and complete by social insurance and house fund. However, since the end of last year, the salary distribution of Seesaw has gradually alienated. "the monthly salary is divided into two parts, 50% on the payday, and the remaining 50% a week later. The final payment in December last year was not settled until February this year."

Because the salary could not be paid normally, the employee said that the number of employees in the store before he left his job had dropped from six people who had been more than two years old to 2-3. "the departure was all due to wage problems" and "people from other provinces who came to work in Shanghai lost their wages, which was tantamount to losing their livelihood". What is even more helpless is that the company still deducts social insurance and house fund's fees from my salary every month, but does not actually pay it. "after I left my job, I was unable to join the new company because my social security was not returned, and the problem of severing insurance has not been solved yet."

According to this employee, as far as she knows, about 75 employees in Seesaw's Shanghai area are in arrears, including both store employees and office back-office staff. Two other Seesaw employees confirmed this claim.

One of the employees, who is a member of the office backstage, said that since July last year, the salary of the backstage staff has been changed from "monthly settlement" to three installments, with the proportion of 35%, 35% and 30% respectively. The worker's salary in October last year was originally scheduled to be paid the following month, but in fact, 30% of his October salary was still unpaid until the end of February this year, and his salary in November last year was also in arrears.

The employee posted details of his wage card transactions, saying that the last time he received his salary was on December 29, 2024, when he was paid his second salary in October 2024 / now he has been owed wages and performance totaling 50,000 yuan. As for the "cut-off insurance", the employee was very helpless. "I didn't know that the company stopped paying social security in June until I saw a colleague's post (online) in September, and I didn't receive any notice before."

A number of employees told reporters that since May 2024, their provident fund contributions have been interrupted, and social security contributions have been suspended one after another from July to September last year, and the company has not yet determined the time of payment. Some employees said that the company is currently in a state of "unmanned docking" out of order. Although the labor inspection department responded that "will assist in the call", but the progress is slow. Employees also tried to contact Wu Xiaomei, founder of Seesaw, many times, but the information was "unreadable" and the public phone could not be reached for a long time.

In this regard, the reporter telephoned a number of Seesaw stores in Shanghai to further verify the situation. Some employees said they were part-time and did not understand the situation of unpaid wages, while some people made it clear that they would not be interviewed.

In addition to suspected wage arrears, Seesaw has accelerated store closures in the past year. According to the official Mini Program, so far there are only 49 Seesaw stores across the country, and two stores are "closed", one of which is on the first floor of a hotel in Shenzhen. The reporter learned through the hotel that the store has not been open recently, and it is not known whether it is a complete withdrawal or a temporary rest.

The manager of a Seesaw store in Beijing told reporters that due to the shortage of materials and the lack of supply of raw materials, the volume of cups in his store declined, the business was deserted, and finally he was unable to hold on. The store closed recently and he was forced to leave. He said that now he has been owed more than 10,000 yuan in wages by Seesaw, plus compensation of about 30,000 yuan.

In view of the arrears of wages and a large number of store closures, the reporter contacted the relevant person in charge of Seesaw to verify the situation, who did not make any response after being informed of the reporter's interview needs. At the same time, the reporter contacted Seesaw again through a variety of channels, but did not receive a response.
