Precautions for using the espresso machine! What should I do when extracting espresso?
If you are a coffee machine user, Qianjie believes that you have encountered a situation where you remove the handle after extracting the espresso, only to find that the powder cake that should have been lying quietly in the powder bowl has disappeared. After some investigation, you discovered that it was actually attached to the brewing head.
Such a situation is not pleasing, because if one of the powder cakes is not absorbed steadily, it will break into very many small pieces when we are not prepared and fall directly on the water receiving tray of the coffee machine. It is really troublesome to clean! Therefore, after experiencing friends discover this situation, they often buckle the handle back and take it down as soon as possible to prevent the powder cake from falling on the water receiving plate. In addition, some people say that coffee becomes terrible when this happens! So is this really the case? This happened to happen on Qianjie, so it's a good time to see if the coffee extracted will become difficult to drink. The coffee beans are made from the classic Italian blend of Qianjie. It is a coffee bean that is very suitable for making espresso. It is made from coffees from Indonesia, Brazil, and Vietnam, and is baked in medium and deep. The coffee extracted with it not only has a strong taste, soft taste, but also has rich and rich oil, which is very good.
The extraction parameters are as follows: powder amount 20g, powder-to-liquid ratio 1:2, and extraction time 33 seconds.
After removing the handle, the dough cake firmly adhered to the brewing head, so Qianjie immediately began to taste it. But by tasting Qianjie, it was found that the coffee did not become bad because of it. The taste is still very balanced, the taste is full and solid, and the flavor is outstanding. You can obviously drink the flavors of chocolate, hazelnut, caramel, and cream from Qianjie's classic Italian mix. It is sweet and lasting, and it is very good. Although the coffee did not become bad because of the adsorption of the powder cake, this did not mean that the previous statement was wrong! The reason is also very simple. There are many factors that cause the powder cake to adhere to the brewing head, and some factors can indeed affect the taste of coffee. So next, Qianjie will come to share with you what factors will cause the powder cake to adhere to the brewing head ~
1. The amount of powder is large. When we use too much powder, the powder cake after extraction will easily be adsorbed on the brewing head. Qianjie has shared it before. Under ideal conditions, it is best to leave a certain gap between the powder cake and the brewing head. One of the reasons is that the powder cake will expand to a certain extent when it is wet. If we use too much flour, the flour cake will be directly "bordering" on the brewing head. This makes it easy for the powder cake to stick to the brewing head after the extraction is completed.
2. If the handle is not removed for a long time, if the handle is not removed for a long time after the extraction is completed, the powder cake will easily stick to the brewing head. The reason is also very simple, because the expanded powder cake will border the brewing head. If the powder cake is not separated from the brewing head for a long time after the extraction, the heat of the brewing head will gradually dry the moisture of the powder cake. At this time, the powder cake can easily stick to the brewing head.
3. There was a bump before extraction. If we bump the handle before we start extracting, it can easily cause the powder cake to stick to the brewing head. Because the bump will loosen the originally fixed powder cake, it will more easily escape from the powder bowl and be absorbed on the brewing head with the back-absorption during pressure relief.
Not only that, bumps can easily cause some cracks in the powder cake, which can lead to channel effects during the extraction process and make the extracted coffee less delicious. This is also the main reason why the presence of powder cakes adhering to the brewing head means that the coffee is not so good. To sum up, you can know why the powder cake sticks to the brewing head after the extraction. But the emergence of this situation does not represent the taste of coffee. It only reflects that we may have had some improper operations or used too much coffee powder ~
