The South Square of Nanjing South Railway Station is located in the core area of the southern new town, covering an area of 133mu, with a total construction area of about 162000 square meters and a planned investment of about 1.84 billion yuan. The construction period of the project is 24 months. The development is divided into three phases: the first phase is located directly under the south landing platform, which is about 19000 square meters for the ground paving project; the second phase is located in the middle of the square, which is a collection and distribution square dominated by the ground landscape and two floors of underground commercial space, with a construction area of about 36000 square meters; the third phase is located on both sides of the square, the ground is about 40 meters high building, underground development of two-story commercial space, a total construction area of about 126000 square meters.

After the completion of the South Square, the ground is a multi-storey building, the center is a distribution square, the east and west sides are 5-storey hotels, 4-storey commercial buildings, with leisure book bars, coffee shops, shopping and so on. The main functions of the two underground floors are commercial, catering, underground garage, non-motorized garage and so on, including 1874 square meters of non-motor vehicle parking garage and about 759 motor vehicle parking spaces.
