The first large-scale coffee planting base appeared in Guangdong

Dr. Song Fuping of the South China Branch of the China Tropical Plant Research Institute affirmed the success of planting more than 50 mu of coffee trees in the county, saying that this is the first base for large-scale successful planting in Guangdong.

Feng Shilin, who is called by the villagers as the "first person" in planting coffee trees in Zhenan, said that the planting technology of coffee trees is a blank in Guangdong, and many coffee varieties will appear phenomena such as disobedience to soil and water or abnormal pathology and variety variation in the process of planting coffee trees in Guangdong. He said that in the course of seven years of planting, he finally cultivated coffee varieties suitable for large areas in Guangdong, and completed the work of raising seedlings, planting, processing and product evaluation, and the villagers also refused to plant coffee trees in front of their houses and behind their houses.
