Philz Coffee Cafe raises $15 million to expand across the United States
Employees of Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter and other companies often patronize the cafe.

This is a report from BI Chinese Station on March 5th.
Philz Coffee, located in Silicon Valley, is a "slow" hand-made boutique cafe that adheres to the principle of "slow life" and allows baristas to make every cup of coffee for their guests.
Phil Jaber, founder of Philz Coffee, told BI that the company's consumers include employees of a number of well-known Silicon Valley companies, such as Google (Weibo), Apple, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. These consumers can have a long talk over a cup of coffee at Philz Coffee Cafe, and Philz Coffee even provides services to these consumers all night.
Philz Coffee, headquartered in San Francisco, has just completed a new round of financing. Philz Coffee raised $15 million in this new round of financing, which includes venture capital firm Summit Partners and some angel investors. These angel investors include Yahoo chairman Maynard Webb, Facebook chief technology officer Mike Schroepfer, former Apple executive Ron Johnson and investor Snoop Dogg.
Currently, Philz Coffee has 18 stores in the San Francisco Bay area and one in Los Angeles. Philz Coffee plans to expand further this year, possibly opening more stores in New York, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Austin, Denver and San Diego. However, Jabbe is still investigating the specific location. Jabby claimed: "I am like a German shepherd-I want to find out the specific places."

Why do cafes train baristas?
Common goal (Common Goals) first of all, no matter what a coffee shop calls it: corporate standards, institutions, or procedures, all employees and baristas in the coffee shop should be able to understand and work towards a training goal. Or, baristas can have longer-term and broader goals, such as reaching the industry set by the American Fine Coffee Association or the European Fine Coffee Association.
