It is said that it is different, not because of the simple interior design or mellow freshly ground coffee, but because of the two owners, Lei Jun and Li Ruxiong in "IT Hubei Army".

In Wuhan, the Wuhan Guanggu Coffee Venture Capital Co., Ltd., founded by the two men, is the organizer of Qingtong Hui in Wuhan. This month, they put the first chess piece of the coffee shop extension in Chengdu. A few days ago, a reporter from Chengdu Evening News went to Wuhan to interview Li Ruxiong. He revealed that he had decided to invest 20 million yuan with Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Technology, to open the first start-up coffee shop in Pixian County, Chengdu in mid-April. Based on this, he built a start-up block in Pixian County, and planned to expand its stores to 4-5 stores within half a year. After being stationed in Chengdu, they will carry out entrepreneurship training, angel investment, project incubation and other work.

Looking for a "good project in China" in the coffee shop

On April 10, entrepreneur du Bing came to Wuhan Guanggu Venture Coffee for the first time, sat down in a booth in the middle of the hall, put his black backpack on the floor and ordered a 15-yuan cup of freshly ground cappuccino with the word "Chuang" LOGO. This is the signature product of the coffee shop, called "Entrepreneurship Coffee". The background music in the store was very soft. Du Bing hummed softly to the tune, then got up and walked around.

The magazines on the bookshelf, the graffiti on the blackboard, the posters on the wall, the big screen in the hall. More than 300 square meters of coffee shop, every corner can find "entrepreneurship", "dream" or related symbols. Like most guests, du Bing did not come to have a cup of coffee or steak. He came to "consult", or rather to look for someone who could invest in his own project. Fortunately, the fresh O2O project he developed independently attracted the attention of Li Ruxiong, general manager of the coffee shop.

Li Ruxiong is the first-hand operator of this coffee shop, and he and his friend Lei Jun hope to use it as a carrier to find the next "good project in China." Compared with the traditional start-up cafe which only serves as a platform, "Optical Valley Venture Coffee" has the function of direct investment and incubation because of the background of these two investors.

Why the Startup Cafe? At 08:30 that evening, Li Ruxiong made a pot of black tea and told the story to a reporter from the Chengdu Evening News.

The intertwined model of coffee and entrepreneurship comes from Silicon Valley. Investors and entrepreneurs and talent hunters haunt cafes, looking for opportunities to cooperate with each other. Many big Internet companies drink in cafes. The more famous start-up cafes in China are "Garage Coffee" from Beijing and "3W Coffee" from Guangzhou. Following this model, Lei Jun and Li Ruxiong came up with the idea of creating Optics Valley start-up Coffee in April 2012. The two decided to invest 5 million yuan in the first phase, totaling 10 million yuan, to start pushing forward. In January 2013, the business license of the coffee shop was granted, with Lei Jun as the chairman and Li Ruxiong as the general manager and responsible for the specific operation.

Li Ruxiong said that "Guanggu Entrepreneurship Coffee" is the third time he has joined hands with Lei Jun. "I always feel a little unreconciled and want to find my own millet."

On April 20, 2013, the first "Guanggu Venture Coffee" was officially opened on the first floor of Guanggu Lu Xiang Capital Building. Li Ruxiong recalled a special guest. On the evening of May 23, 2013, he held a small symposium in the coffee shop to discuss the establishment of an angel investment club. At 10:40 at night, an employee suddenly came up to him and told him that there seemed to be a leader coming outside. When he came out to have a look, he was the then mayor of Wuhan. Li Ruxiong learned that the other party had just watched the movie "Chinese Partners" with his family nearby, and remembered

Li Ruxiong said that that night, several entrepreneurial teams were still working in the coffee shop, and one team was the Dream team, which came back from Guangzhou. The then mayor of Wuhan asked a young man, "Why did you come back?" Chuang Chuang LOGO on Entrepreneurship Coffee was pioneered by Xuan Jie, the executive general manager and wife of Li Ruxiong. Chengdu was chosen after two or three visits.

What benefits did you get from angel investment in Wuhan? "there is no sweetness!" Li Ruxiong told the Chengdu Evening News that his goal is to incubate and grow a batch of even a start-up benchmark project that can create a market capitalization of US $1 billion within 10 years. It's not an easy task, at least he thinks so.

In the second year of the establishment of Optics Valley Venture Coffee, Li Ruxiong and Lei Jun thought that the time was ripe for extension, so they targeted Chengdu.

Why Chengdu? "the leadership attaches great importance to it, and we will do as soon as they do." This is Li Ruxiong's answer.

Similar to the "Optics Valley start-up Coffee" finalised five minutes ago, the Chengdu layout plan is also very fast. Li Ruxiong only visited Chengdu two or three times in the past three or four months, and then decided with Lei Jun to initially invest 20 million yuan to open the first start-up coffee shop on Hongqi Avenue, Deyuan Town, Pixian County, with an area of about 3000 square meters. At present, everything is ready and will only open in mid-April.

In the past two years, the relevant government departments in many places in China, such as Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and so on, have found Li Ruxiong, hoping to introduce entrepreneurial cafes. He has stood still, but Chengdu has acted quickly. "Chengdu has a gene for innovation and entrepreneurship, and local governments are pragmatic and efficient, often calling to ask about progress, coupled with strong policy support and mature design solutions, which have contributed to the landing of the project." That's why Li Ruxiong took a fancy to the city. In addition, there are two key factors that prompted him to finally choose Chengdu, one is the obvious advantages of the mobile Internet industry, and the other is the stable talent structure here. "Chengdu is like a treasure trove, attracting talents from the surrounding cities."

When he comes to Chengdu, he will do two things-looking for projects and talents. "with regard to the project, in fact, we do not have a framed scope, but the mobile Internet must be the main direction." Li Ruxiong said that as long as the project market is big enough, the team is strong enough, and it is not expensive, they will consider it. "for example, if the team is strong enough, your project must have talents such as management, technology, and supply chain channels; if the project does not burn money, it cannot be a blindly invested project. In my concept, 5 million of angel investment is the upper limit." Li Ruxiong also revealed that relying on Pixian stores, they will plan to build entrepreneurial blocks, and plan to set up four to five chain cafes in Chengdu within six months to further improve the investment and incubation functions of entrepreneurial cafes.
