According to Yang Chunqing, director of Baoshan City Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau, Baoshan City has vigorously promoted the cultivation of Baoshan Arabica coffee since 1952. By 2010, the coffee planting area of Baoshan City has reached 145,000 mu, the production area is 98,000 mu, the output value is 18609 tons, and the output value is 360 million yuan. It has become the largest coffee bean production base and export foreign exchange base in the province, with the export volume reaching 11.5 million US dollars. The objectives of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" coffee industry development plan of Baoshan City are: By 2015, the coffee planting area of the whole city will reach 220,000 mu, the annual output will be 27,000 tons, and the annual sales revenue will exceed 600 million yuan.
