Erna Knutsen is a legendary figure in the international coffee industry. In 1974, she first put forward the concept of Specialty Coffee (boutique coffee), advocated to improve the quality of coffee, and attached importance to the production of different flavors of coffee from different areas, leading to the global revolution of boutique coffee.
In 1991, the American Fine Coffee Association (SCAA) awarded the first Lifetime Achievement Award to Knutsen for her outstanding contributions, which led the international coffee community to regard her as the godmother of boutique coffee. Last year, through the introduction of Wu Chien-wen, then secretary general of the Taiwan Fine Coffee Association, Knutsen got this raw coffee bean from Yuchi Township in Taiwan. after personally baking and cup testing, Wu Chien-wen was greatly surprised, and then asked Wu Chien-wen to arrange for Taiwan to visit Yu Fangxia to see what kind of environment could breed such a special flavor of boutique coffee.
In the morning, Knutsen, accompanied by Chen Jinlun, head of Fish Pond, went to Yu Fangxia's coffee farm to explore the planting and roasting of coffee beans, and once again enjoyed the crystal mineral coffee. "at first there was a great aroma and sweetness, and then there was the lingering taste of chocolate, which is amazing and memorable," Knutsen praised the crystal coffee with an intoxicated look. Chen Jinlun said that although Knutsen is more than 90 years old, he is still tasting around the world, looking for good raw coffee beans.
