Vietnam's coffee exports will decrease significantly in the 2012-2013 season
Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association recently said that due to natural disasters, a decline in unit output, and difficulties in financing for exporters, Vietnamese coffee production is expected to be reduced by 15-20% in 2012, and exports will also be significantly reduced. It is expected that it will be difficult to maintain the status of the world's largest exporter.
Italy, Spain and Japan are also the main export markets for Vietnamese coffee. Vietnam exported nearly 1.6 million tons of coffee in 2011, with an export value of US $3.4 billion, an increase of 23% and 24% respectively over the same period last year, surpassing Brazil and ranking first in the world.
