The survey summarizes the average amount of instant coffee sold by counties across the country in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The results show that households in Nara prefecture consume 3195g of coffee per year, far exceeding the national average of 2130g. Other coffee consumers are Ishikawa prefecture (3018g) and Hokkaido (2920g).

In terms of coffee consumption and the local population, the average person in Japan drinks three cups of coffee a day, while Nara prefecture residents drink an average of four cups a day. Although many people are used to drinking coffee without sugar, they still eat some sweet foods such as ice cream, Strawberry Cake, puffs and so on.
