With the approval of the people's Government of Yunnan Province, the 26th World Coffee Science Congress will be held at Continental Hotel in Kunming from November 13 to November 19, 2016. Scientists from all over the world will gather in Kunming to launch a "Huashan sword" around coffee and health, coffee chemistry, coffee agronomy and other scientific topics.

According to the organizing committee, the main venue of the conference is located at Continental Hotel in Kunming, with two sub-venues in Dehong City and Chongqing. During the meeting, there will be not only speeches by scientists in Kunming, but also activities such as the "China Cup Coffee Cup Competition" in Kunming, as well as exhibitions and sales activities in Continental Hotel and the South Asian style Park. Citizens will have the opportunity to meet many coffee brands from home and abroad and feel the coffee customs at home and abroad. At the same time, the first Asian Coffee Annual meeting and Chinese Coffee Night will be held in Mangshi. At the Chongqing branch venue, the groundbreaking ceremony of the "10,000-ton Coffee Industry Park" will also be held as scheduled.

It is reported that the theme of the conference is "sharing the Scientific Progress of Coffee", which is co-sponsored by the World Coffee Science and Information Association and the China Coffee Engineering Research Center. The World Coffee Science Congress is known as the "Olympic" event of the world coffee industry, which is held every two years. it is the only, most influential and authoritative international conference in the world coffee industry, and its influence is second only to the Davos Forum. Because the ecological environment of Yunnan coffee growing area is unique, and its climatic conditions are similar to those of Colombia, many comparative tests, comparisons and studies have proved that the cup quality of Yunnan coffee beans is comparable to that of coffee in the high altitude areas of Central America. It is a high-quality coffee. However, Yunnan has high-quality coffee raw materials, coffee sales are in an awkward position, there are few local brands, the two form a sharp contrast. In this case, Yunnan coffee urgently needs to open a door to the world. The 26th World Coffee Science Congress held in Kunming is a new opportunity for coffee researchers, technical experts, producers and sellers from all over the world to get together to understand and promote Yunnan coffee.

Up to now, the conference has attracted scientists from nearly 40 countries and received nearly 300 papers. Well-known brands Nestle, UCC, illy and Hougu have signed up for the conference. The organizing committee of the conference said that the conference will continue to attract investment and will attract more well-known enterprises at home and abroad to participate in the conference. At present, more than 60 participating countries, including France, Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Indonesia, Japan, Brazil, the United Kingdom, India, Ivory Coast, Colombia, Ethiopia, Uganda and Ghana, with hundreds of delegates.

Coffee is an international trade commodity second only to crude oil. Global coffee production and marketing are basically balanced. Production and consumption are highly related to global economic trends. At present, consumption and output are roughly balanced. The United States, Brazil and other American countries. Germany, France, Italy and other European countries, as well as South Korea, Japan and other Asian developed countries, are the main consumers of coffee in the world, with an annual growth rate of 2.3% and steady growth. Consumption in developing countries has increased significantly, with a growth rate of more than 15%, becoming a new engine of global consumption. Take China as an example, the growth rate of coffee consumption is more than 25%. It is estimated that China's coffee consumption will exceed 500000 tons by 2020, which is expected to become one of the largest coffee consumption markets in the world.

For Yunnan, which accounts for 99% of the country's coffee production, the holding of the World Coffee Science Conference in Yunnan Province will help Yunnan Province and China's coffee industry develop internationally, improve the status of Yunnan coffee in Asia and the world, and promote the sustained and healthy development of Yunnan coffee industry.
