Coffee production in Mexico falls to its lowest level in 20 years
Mexico's coffee production fell to its lowest level in two decades during the 2015-2016 harvest, Mexico's Millennium Daily reported on April 12. Two decades ago, the production of black coffee was close to 6.5 million bags (69 kg / bag). This harvest season, it has dropped to 2.2 million bags, a decline of more than 50 per cent. Twenty years ago, ink coffee production ranked fourth in the world, but in recent years, due to the annual decline in production, the current ranking has been negligible.
