From March 17 to 23, the week-long cross-strait coffee exchange activity ended in Pu'er City, Yunnan Province. 60 guests from Taiwan engaged in coffee cultivation, production, processing and sales gathered with their mainland counterparts to discuss and exchange skills on how to achieve win-win sharing, cooperation and development of cross-strait coffee, reached broad consensus and achieved fruitful results.
Pu'er City is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, and the Tropic of Cancer runs through the city. With good ecological environment and superior natural conditions, Pu'er has become the core coffee producing area and coffee trade distribution center with the largest planting area, the highest yield and the best quality of coffee in China. On December 29, 2016, Yunnan International Coffee Trading Center settled in Pu'er, providing a powerful platform for optimizing and strengthening Yunnan coffee industry. With the strong support of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Pu'er City took the opportunity of holding the final of the Fifth World siphon Pot Competition and the second Pu'er Fine Coffee Raw Bean Competition in Pu'er. Professionals engaged in coffee cultivation and distribution in Taiwan were invited to Pu'er to deliver treasures under the organization of Ms. Xiao Beilin, founder of Taiwan 8C Coffee and Mr. you Qiming, General Manager of Lanshan Coffee in Taipei. Sixty Taiwanese guests engaged in the coffee industry went to Pu'er for a week-long exchange to find out how Pu'er coffee can get out of the wider world and conspire for the development of coffee between the two places.
The event was rich in content and splendid. Pu'er 's Taiwan Affairs Office and Pu'er Tea and Coffee Bureau meticulously organized a coffee salon with the theme of "Pu'er Coffee World sharing". Operators from the coffee industry on both sides of the strait and well-known referees of the World Coffee Association conducted a professional and wonderful exchange and discussion after on-the-spot investigation and understanding of Pu'er coffee. During the exchange in Lancang County, Pu'er City, a negotiation meeting on attracting investment from Lancang, Ximeng, Menglian, and Taiwan delegation was specially held to publicize and promote the project resource advantages of the three counties to Taiwan guests. In the final of the Fifth World siphon Pot Competition and the second Pu'er Fine Coffee Raw Bean Competition, the contestants from Taiwan also won the second place.
In order to give Taiwan guests a better understanding of Pu'er, in addition to doing a good job in three theme activities, this exchange also organized Taiwanese guests to visit some coffee and tea enterprises in Pu'er City. Ning'er County National Unity Oath Monument and Tongxin Nakori characteristic tourism town, Lancang Jingmai 10,000 mu of ancient tea forest and other places, good ecological environment, unique resource advantages, rich and colorful national culture deeply attracted the attention of the exchange delegation.
