According to the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE), Kenya's coffee revenue increased by 31% to US$130 million this coffee season (October 2016 to April 2017), mainly due to higher coffee production and auction prices. Coffee production increased by 10.6 percent to 26 tons, and auction prices increased by 18.5 percent to $243 per 50 kg of coffee. Coffee and tea are Kenya's main export products. The increase in coffee income can partially alleviate the impact of drought on Kenya's tea income, which has dropped by 35%.
