We all know that coffee contains caffeine, but it can be refreshing. In fact, Coke, lemon tea and even green tea also contain caffeine. TOPick asked Chen Yunlin, a nutritionist at the Home Nutrition Center, for advice on the caffeine content of different drinks:

As can be seen from the above table, coffee has the highest caffeine content of 118 mg in 250 ml drinks, followed by milk tea with 96 mg. However, even cola and lemon tea contain 23 mg and 17.75 mg of caffeine respectively. Among the common drinks, the lowest coffee is chocolate, which is only 4 milligrams per 250 milliliters.

two。 The disadvantages of consuming too much caffeine

Drinks containing caffeine have the effect of diuresis and can speed up the excretion of body water through urine. Generally speaking, moderate intake of caffeine will not cause health problems.

However, pregnant women should pay particular attention to their caffeine intake. The Food Safety Center recommends that pregnant women consume no more than 200 to 300 milligrams of caffeine a day. Children should not consume more than 2.5 to 5 milligrams of caffeine per kilogram of body weight every day. For example, a child weighing about 30 kilograms should not consume more than 75 to 150 milligrams of caffeine a day, that is, about 2 to 4 cans of cola. Excessive intake can lead to accelerated heartbeat, anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia and so on, which can easily increase the risk of osteoporosis.

3. Apart from drinks, which foods contain caffeine?

Generally speaking, the caffeine of the drinks mainly comes from the above drinks. In addition, chocolate also contains caffeine. Every 100 grams of chocolate contains about 38-75 milligrams of caffeine. Therefore, we can pay more attention to the intake of caffeine to avoid excessive intake.
