Children should not consume more than 2.5 to 5 milligrams of caffeine per kilogram of body weight every day. For example, a child weighing about 30 kilograms should not consume more than 75 to 150 milligrams of caffeine a day, that is, about 2 to 4 cans of cola. Excessive intake can lead to accelerated heartbeat, anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia and so on, which can easily increase the risk of osteoporosis.
