Coffee exports from Laos surged to more than 40,000 tons in 2017

Laos's coffee exports in 2017 will exceed US $112 million, an increase of about 33 percent over 2016, and are expected to export more than 40, 000 tons, an increase of 10, 000 tons over 2016, the Vientiane Times of Laos reported on October 9. Improved weather and increasing demand from overseas markets, particularly Vietnam, Japan and China, are the main reasons for the surge in sales.
