Recently, Coca-Cola announced that it is testing a sustainable paper bottle.

It is understood that Coca-Cola is testing a more sustainable paper bottle in Hungary so that the bottle can be "recycled like paper." the company plans to completely replace plastic bottles in the future.

According to media reports, the Brussels-based R & D team is working with Danish start-up The Paper Bottle Company on the project, and Coca-Cola plans to sell the product online in limited quantities starting this summer.

In fact, just a few days ago, Coca-Cola announced a "major change"-using 100% recycled plastic to make bottles.

However, Coca-Cola said it will use 100% recycled plastic to produce bottles and packaging components for its drinks in some parts of the United States. Coke products made of 100% recycled plastic will write messages on the caps to remind consumers to recycle bottles after consumption. In addition, Coca-Cola will gradually replace common 550ml bottles and expand to more areas.

Coca-Cola plans to achieve 100% recyclability of Coca-Cola packaging by 2025 and plans to achieve the goal of using 50% recyclable materials in all bottles and cans by 2030.

The fully recyclable bottles being studied by Coca-Cola are characterized by the use of "bio-based materials" as external carton-shaped barriers and made from sustainable sources of wood. The bottle has a recycled plastic lining for drinks and a plastic lid. According to Coca-Cola, the paper outer wall is designed to resist oxygen, carbon dioxide and liquids, which means it can be used with other consumer goods such as cosmetics.

Daniela Zahariea of Coca-Cola Europe said: "the trial we announced today is a milestone in our quest to develop paper bottles. People expect Coca-Cola to develop and introduce new, innovative and sustainable packaging types to the market. That's why we work with experts like Paboco to conduct public trials and first market trials.

Although Coca-Cola has been rated as the largest plastic polluter for the third time, Coca-Cola is taking positive measures to solve the environmental problems of its products.
