How to drink Golden Monkey Black Tea the difference between Golden Monkey Jasmine Dragon Ball Dahongpao in Fujian famous Tea list
China, the hometown of tea, is the largest tea grower in the world, producing about 2 million tons of tea every year. Therefore, it is not surprising that China also has the largest number of tea-growing lands in the world, and it is not surprising that many provinces have tea gardens. These gardens are usually found in small plots of land on high mountains, and they grow down the mountain until they stop for geographical reasons. It is these geographical pauses and beginnings that make the garden smaller and located in a small place rather than vast. The tea garden in China is a loosely connected isolated garden network determined by the natural environment. All six kinds of tea (black tea, white tea, green tea, yellow tea, oolong tea and post-fermented tea) are grown all over China and come from about 340 different tea varieties. However, not every province produces these six kinds of tea; on the contrary, each province is famous for its specific types of tea and mode of production. We will start in Fujian. This is a good start, because most kinds of good tea are made here. The province is famous for its exotic white tea, sacred jasmine tea, simple oolong tea and delicious black tea (with amazing names such as Golden Crab, Golden Monkey and Golden Needle King). There is only lack of green tea and Pu'er tea. Fujian is a coastal province in southeastern China. Fujian's hilly terrain is known as "eight mountains, one water and one field". Fujian has a subtropical climate with hot and humid summers and mild winters. Tea trees grow in the environment of Fujian and are famous for their various kinds of tea produced by their fertile soil. Tea farmers have developed many different styles of tea. They found what specific tea trees were good at and made delicious tea in a completely different way. You can understand why we like Fujian tea. In another series of blogs, we will discuss all the details that make up these excellent teas. The heritage of tea is closely related to Fujian, which is reflected not only in the wide variety of tea in Fujian, but also in the English word "tea" (Tea) comes from the Minnan word "Tea". " The Min River is the province, so in the south they speak the Minnan dialect of the River and the Beihe River. They say minute Bay-Chinese "nan" means "south" and "shell" means "north". My father, Mike, remembers when he first returned to 1996, when he was driving northward from Guangdong Province. Cantonese pronounce it as "cha". Fujian people who walk north for an hour call it "tea", which is the etymology of "tea". When you see this picture, you can understand why this groundbreaking book about the region is called the Harvest Mountains. We are big fans in Fujian Province, not only because of its excellent tea, but also because of its beauty. In 2019, we went to the seaside city of Fuding to drink white tea and jasmine tea. Wherever we drive, you can see tea. On the mountain above the city, we walked in an organic tea garden, and we could see the sea in the distance. This is one of the few places where this happens. Also in the city, there is tea drying in the street, which reminds us of beach chairs. Then we drove into the black tea area and went to the town of Golden Monkey in Fu'an, Zheng he and Songxi. Last time we stopped in the old town of Panyang, our hometown of Panyang. It is fun to climb the mountain and visit the old tea factory. We finished our journey in the northwest corner of Wuyi Mountain and tasted Dahongpao Oolong and the smoked race Zhengshan race. It's colder there, and the mountains are often shrouded in fog. On this trip, we did not go to Anxi, the birthplace of Tianguanyin Oolong. As we often say, so much tea, so little time!
At the end of the road are three big red tea trees-perhaps the most famous tea trees. Some of the most popular Fujian teas we offer include: White Peony. During a trip to Fuding, Mike visited many white tea producers and was impressed by their innovation. There, he found this very special white tea and thought that many people would like it. White peony belongs to the category of "new leaf white tea", which is a subcategory of white tea made from the first bunch of leaves of tea trees. When you drink this sweet and mellow tea, you will find that it tastes stronger than real white tea. Jasmine Dragon Ball Tea. This is a masterpiece of green and white tea. the dragon ball jasmine is gently injected into the jasmine flower from the small "pearl". These are handmade by a lady from Fu'an in northern Fujian Province. When my father saw the lady who made this lovely tea, he thanked her on behalf of all the tea drinkers. The blend is pure joy, with floral and light-colored sweet aromas. Wuyi Dahongpao. Few places are as rich in tea production as Wuyi Mountain in China. This kind of "Dahongpao" comes from those famous tea gardens. This is a wonderful oolong tea made from three famous tea trees, its large and complete leaves are oxidized by about 40%, warm and rich without intimidating taste. Hints of peach fruit plates and dark molasses haunt the taste buds, each slightly different. Golden monkey. This kind of black tea is produced in northern Fujian. It comes from the Panyang Gongfu tea family and is one of the last teas with a long history produced during the tea trade in China. It is characterized by large black tea dotted with golden tea tips. It produces a slightly sweet "round" cup of tea with good complexity. Pay attention to the smell of almonds, nuts and roses. Thank you for participating in our exploration of Fujian and the wonderful tea from Fujian. We will be back next month to bring more information about another magical tea province in China.
