Which tastes better, Wudao Danzong tea or single-plant tea? Where can I buy authentic Wushu old fir
We go to Phoenix Village regularly every year to choose Phoenix Dancong Oolong. In 2016, we successfully acquired a new category-Danzhu Oolong Tea. Literally, "Dan Cong" refers to a single tea tree. Nowadays, however, in Chaozhou, China, "single clump" no longer means "single tea tree". Most of the lower-priced Phoenix oolong tea is garden tea. These teas should not be called Dancong. At present, the word "Dancong" means that tea is not planted in a garden, but in an independent tea tree. Tea farmers or tea merchants usually classify tea with the same genetic characteristics and unique fruit or floral flavor as single fir tea, and each batch of single fir tea usually weighs no more than 5 to 6 kilograms. For teas that grow from seeds and have no unique or unique taste, they are called daffodils.
What is Lao Fong? In Dancong oolong tea, there is a category called Laocong, which refers to Dancong oolong tea picked from very old tea trees. However, there is no strict definition of the exact age of the tea tree. In my experience, it depends largely on the manufacturer. Some people call the century-old tea tree "old fir", while others think that the century-old tea tree is still too young. The old fir either comes from a tea tree or a group of tea trees, which have similar age, genetic characteristics and taste. After all, "old fir" only refers to tea made from older trees. It is not a term used to define that tea comes from a single tea tree. The tea trees of Phoenix Oolong are not planted in a garden way. These old tea trees are called old fir. Single Phoenix Oolong Tea the last kind of Phoenix Oolong is called single plant. "single plant" refers to the collection of tea from a single shrub. Today, the word is used not only in Phoenix oolong tea, but also in Pu'er tea. In fact, if only one kind of tea is collected and sold separately after processing, instead of mixing with other tea trees, it is also technically a single tea. However, it is a common practice for tea manufacturers to introduce only tea collected from a very old tree. For Phoenix oolong tea, altitude is also a key factor affecting its quality. Wulong Mountain is famous for producing the best quality Phoenix Oolong. Only a small number of old tea trees grow at higher elevations (> 1000 meters) in Wushan Mountain. The producing area of Phoenix oolong tea is small, not as large as Pu'er tea. Obviously, those famous individual trees must be the famous tea trees that everyone in the village knows. Usually, the price is not low; however, the main problem is that tea must be ordered before the start of the tea season to ensure a certain quantity. In 2016, we successfully purchased three kinds of Phoenix oolong tea. These three kinds of tea are collected from the famous tea trees in Wushan Mountain. In particular, we bought a very famous tea called Wen Zi. This tree grows on the hill of Wudao Village and belongs to the Wen family. The tree was there a long time ago, and no one knows exactly how old it is. This kind of tea tree is so famous that it even appears in the book Phoenix Oolong. I can say that this is an old tea tree representing Phoenix Oolong.

In China, tea is collected only from a specific single tea tree called (individual). The terminology of Phoenix Oolong Tea Today, the tea in Phoenix Village has many names, such as Dancong, Laocang and so on.
