Tea lovers are attracted by the high-quality tea of folk customs and stories dedicated to the maintenance of local culture and sustainable development. Can you tell us your decision to give up organic certification, reject any mechanical processing and use environmentally friendly packaging? Why is this important and how does it affect the final product? The organic tea movement in Assam began decades ago, but the production of organic tea in Naharkatia began a decade or two ago. People realize that the market demand for organic products is increasing, so people begin to change from inorganic to organic. Certification takes at least three years, usually five years to find foreign particles in tea or soil. Some of the growers we work with have been transformed into organic gardens, and some have started organic and natural gardens. Our priority is to keep it in its natural state-just like any sapling you plant, it will grow on its own. We intend to do the same. Tea trees grow without any human intervention. So it becomes naturally organic, and growers don't even use organic fertilizers and pesticides, so we call it "natural". The process of obtaining organic certification is very difficult and requires a lot of money. We have four or five small farmers who do not have enough resources to pay for certification. So we call it natural tea and natural processes.

One of the benefits of sustainable development and the non-use of inorganic products is that through our tea planting practice, we do not introduce any foreign particles into the soil, which, if any, helps to reduce soil pollution. We plant other trees, such as fruit trees, in the middle of the garden so that the roots wrap around each other on the ground. We believe that this entangled root mechanism helps to brew fragrant tea. About packaging: we want to keep it to a minimum (with or without disposable plastic as much as possible) and eco-friendly, so that's why we thought of paper packaging with aluminum foil coating. It's hard to find paper solutions in India, because most of them are plastic, which is a cheap option, so it's hard for us to find a suitable one. The bags we use are biodegradable.
