On the fundraising page, Gleb and Igor point out that there are two kinds of household Espresso coffee machines on the market, one is a low-priced coffee machine that is affordable to the public, but does not have a good temperature and pressure control system, and the other is a high-priced coffee machine that can make good coffee, but the price is more than $700. Their newly designed coffee machine can achieve the effect of a high-priced coffee machine at a price of $400.
The two engineers redesigned the Espresso coffee machine, using a lot of raw materials that can be purchased directly, achieving low price and high quality. The core part of the coffee machine is a redesigned "themoblock" that can heat up quickly. At the same time, when the coffee comes out, the PID controller on the machine will adjust the temperature and pressure according to the feedback to ensure the quality and taste of the coffee.
The core of the machine uses open source hardware Arduino, and the software part is completely open source.
In order to prove the quality of the coffee machine, designers took their prototype to the local coffee shop and compared it with the machine in the store, and it turned out to be able to achieve the desired results. They plan to launch the product in the spring and summer of 2012. Judging from the current situation, the prospect of the product should be good.
