The Philippines
Coffee was introduced into the Philippines (Philippines) in the early 19th century and by 1880 the country had become the fourth largest coffee exporter in the world. However, due to the spread of coffee rust, the country became a coffee importer soon after 1880. However, the coffee growing industry has gradually recovered.
Coffee producing areas in the Philippines:
The Philippines is one of the few countries that can grow four varieties of coffee, namely Robart, Lieberica, Exelsa and Arabica coffee. Mindanao, the second largest island in the southernmost part of the Philippines, produces high quality and high yield Arabica coffee.
The characteristics of Filipino coffee:
Flavor: mild and full-bodied, with a hint of spice
Suggested roasting method: medium to deep roasting, suitable for blending espresso
