Vietnam joins one of the world's top five coffee exporters

According to a survey of American consumers conducted by the Colombian Coffee producers Association, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Kenya and Vietnam are considered to be the five best-known coffee producers, with approval ratings of 85%, 67%, 59%, 33% and 16%, respectively. The United States is the world's largest coffee market.

Reported that Vietnam is currently one of the world's major exporters of robusta coffee. In 2014, Vietnam exported about 1.73 million tons of coffee, an increase of 33.4 percent over the same period last year, while exports totaled about US $3.62 billion, an increase of 32.2 percent. Germany and the United States are the two major export markets for Vietnamese coffee, accounting for 14.1% and 10.2% of Vietnam's coffee exports, respectively. In January this year, Vietnam exported about 100000 tons of coffee, down 28.9% from the same period last year; exports exceeded US $200 million, down 23.6%.
