A lactating woman was furious when a waiter told her to feed her baby in a corner at a Bristol cafe while she was having lunch with her baby, the Daily Mail of July 4 reported. Kelly Schaecher, 28, said that not far after leaving the store, a clerk insulted her and shouted at her,"Don't come to my coffee shop again."

She posted her encounter online and gained support from breastfeeding advocates. They launched an initiative on Facebook to protest against the coffee shop's discrimination against breastfeeding and received support from more than 200 lactating mothers. They gathered with their children in the cafe and openly fed them there in a peaceful sit-down in protest. Later, the owner of the coffee shop realized his mistake and apologized to Kelly, hanging a sign in the shop that said,"Breastfeeding is allowed here."
