Alphabet's Google Corp. said on the 27th that it has launched a new Internet service platform "Google Station" in India to expand its influence in the Indian market, Reuters reported on Sept. 27.

The search engine giant strives to make more people use Google's online platform, the report said. With Google Station, Google will launch Wi-Fi hotspots in places frequented by people, such as shopping malls, stations, and social gatherings, such as cafes and universities.

Caesar Sengupta, vice president of Google and head of the "next billion users" program, said in a statement: "our goal is to get people out of their homes, universities and offices to connect to the Internet within minutes. With a simple login, you can connect to the Internet everywhere. "

Google currently offers free Wi-Fi hotspots at 53 Indian train stations and plans to expand the service to 100 by the end of the year. Mr Sengupta says the company is looking for ways to generate revenue from the service.
