The draft decree stipulates that all instant coffee produced or imported and distributed and sold in the country shall meet the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). Therefore, the manufacturer of these products should certify compliance with these requirements by holding a product certificate using the SNI logo.

The product certificate concerning the SNI mark shall be approved by KAN and issued by the product certification body designated by the Ministry of Industry through the product quality compliance test required by SNI:

The General Administration of Agriculture-based Industry of the Ministry of Industry is the agency responsible for the implementation of this Act and shall provide a technical guidance on this Act covering product certification procedures and the SNI mark.

Domestic and imported products distributed in the domestic market shall meet the requirements of SNI 2983 / 2014, which specifies terms and definitions, quality requirements, sampling, testing methods, test acceptance, marking requirements and packaging (this standard in Indonesian is available).
