New Coffee Mountain New Village is expected to become a veritable "coffee" village! The village committee once again invited villagers to plant coffee trees in order to create an one-village brand for the village and make the new Coffee Mountain New Village just like its name.

The New Coffee Mountain New Village has promoted the planting of coffee trees in 2015. As after the previous two distributions of saplings, the villagers had a poor harvest due to poor planting techniques or planting saplings in the orchard, so the village committee decided to invite villagers to plant coffee trees together again.

Zeng Guanghai, head of New Coffee Mountain New Village, called on villagers to attend the handover ceremony of 3000 coffee saplings held at the village committee clubhouse at 9 a.m. on July 10, and encouraged every household to plant coffee trees in front of their doors.

"this coffee tree planting plan will work with the Jinbao County Council to help villagers plant trees. I believe they can plant trees successfully. The coming tree planting scheme is sponsored by the Kwok Foundation for 2500 saplings and organic fertilizer for a period of one year. The beneficiaries are villagers with one-horse assistance, and each of them can receive five saplings. Other villagers can also apply to the Association to obtain the saplings free of charge.

Distribute coffee saplings

At present, more than 1000 families have been allocated saplings and organic manure to villagers from New Coffee Hill New Village and two nearby reorganized villages, New Coffee Hill Wah Primary School and two secondary schools.

Zeng Guanghai said that if all villagers can respond to planting coffee trees in their homes, it will not only be spectacular, but also attract tourists and create business opportunities.

It is understood that a coffee tree is 100 years old and can have a harvest after planting for about a year. If a tree has a monthly income of 70 ringgit, five trees will have 350 ringgit per month, virtually increasing the income.

In addition, the soft skills support Department of Campbell Raman University will also assist and teach villagers to plant coffee trees to ensure that they can plant coffee trees effectively.

Zeng Guanghai called on villagers to cherish the planting plan, so that the village can successfully create one product per village, allowing the elderly to kill time, while creating jobs and retaining young people.
