And if you get the hang of it, you can sometimes bake coffee beans that taste pretty good. The simplest tool is the hand net, and a small hand bean dryer or home electric bean dryer is often used.
Benefits of hand net baking
The most common method used by people who do their own baking (Home Roast) is hand web baking. As long as you can bake at a low cost and practice hard, you can get a pretty good finished product. There is also a hand net specially designed for baking beans on the Internet, which is integrated with the handle. The price of props is relatively cheap, and the firepower can be adjusted intuitively. Disadvantages of hand net baking
In the process of shaking on the fire, the hand net can easily deviate from the flame position and is affected by the surrounding air flow, so it is difficult to heat the beans steadily. And beans may not swell, and appear astringent or bitter taste. As the hand-net baked beans can not provide stable heating, it is difficult to make the beans taste better. And because it all depends on the baker's own feelings, it's hard to get the same results every time.
The cause of hand net baking
Although there is a difficult boundary, as long as a few variables are properly adjusted, good results can be achieved. When baking beans with hand net, the state, quantity, time, flame size and height of hand net are all important factors. If these variables are different each time they are baked, the results will be different each time; therefore, efforts must be made to reduce these factors as much as possible to achieve similar results. First of all, prepare a certain amount of raw beans according to the size of the hand net, because the water content and size of raw beans can not be determined by individuals, so just regard this as the original characteristics of raw beans.
Although the baking time should be adjusted according to the state of raw beans, at the beginning, it is recommended to set the time for homogenization, the first explosion, and the second explosion, and only adjust the bean time (the time when the baking ends). If you bake at a predetermined time, you can develop the feel of firepower adjustment, so it is better to set the time and bake within that time when you first try hand-net baking.
Firepower adjustment
Firepower adjustment is the most difficult part in hand net baking. There are two ways to adjust firepower: the height from the source of fire or the size of the flame; depending on the two, the results will vary greatly, and if possible, try to fix one of the conditions. For example, "homogenize the 40cm about 10 minutes above the fire source and heat the 20cm above the fire source for 5 minutes". If recorded like this, it is more likely to get the finished product with the same taste again.
Heat source of hand net baking
When baking at home, a cassette gas stove is used in order not to make it difficult to clean up the falling silver. But the fuel bottle capacity of the cassette gas furnace is small, and if the baking time is long, the gas will be used up or cooled off. So the flame may become smaller in the middle of the baking, and it is often difficult to steadily heat the raw beans. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully observe the state of the flame and adjust the size of the flame accordingly.
It is recommended that you try not to use maximum fire. The gas stove using liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG) will not have much problem, but if it is a portable cassette gas furnace, the internal pressure may become lower due to the cooling of the gas tank, making the flame of the maximum fire smaller. Therefore, the flame can be slightly divided into 4 equal parts, with 3 / 4 of the flame set as the maximum firepower and 1 / 4 as the minimum firepower. If it is set in this way, even if the gas pressure decreases slightly midway, it will not have much impact on the maximum firepower set by yourself. Use this way to determine the size of the fire, and adjust the firepower to bake according to your own style.
