From January to July, Kazakhstan produced 10080 tons of tea and coffee, an increase of 1.8 percent over the same period last year. In the first half of the year, 70.8 per cent of tea and coffee demand depended on imports, totaling 21590 tons, an increase of 19.5 per cent over the same period last year. The domestic sales of tea and coffee were 28940 tons, an increase of 14.8 percent over the same period last year, with a per capita consumption of 1.6kg. In the first half of the year, tea imports totaled 17220 tons, up 17.2 percent over the same period last year. Total imports totaled US $62.76 million, up 15.8 percent over the same period last year. The main importers were Kenya, India and Russia.
