Introduction of Adado of Yega Xuefei Adado Cooperative

The Adado Cooperative Adado co-operative, located in the Bule District district of Yegashefi, has 1128 members and grows coffee more than 2000 meters above sea level. Adado Adado is named after the ethnic name of the local aborigines. The whole area is lush with trees and is the forest belt of Gedeo.

This coffee does not follow the usual Ethiopian coffee export pipeline, through the Ethiopian Coffee Exchange (Ethiopian Coffee Exchange;ECX), resulting in a mixture of different producing areas, and the characteristics of micro-producing areas disappear. Instead, through the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union;YCFCU, YCFCU is made up of 24 cooperatives with 50,000 farmers under its jurisdiction, including Yirgacheffe, Gedeb, Wanago, Dilla Zuria, Bule and Kochere. Adado is one of the 24 cooperatives.

YCFCU does not have to go through the centralized mixing system of the exchange ECX, so it can retain relatively clear traceability of co-operatives or washing plants. More importantly, it can pay higher prices to farmers in accordance with the quality of fresh coffee picked in the washing plant, so as not to become a big pot of rice. Only in this way can the classic Yega Chuefei flavor be reproduced. Adado's conservation and treatment of coffee trees is done by hand, while agriculture relies on ancient traditional farming methods rather than modern pest control or fertilizer techniques.
