How to descale my Saeco Moltio espresso machine?

Remove dirt from your Saeco Moltio espresso machine to help maintain the best condition of the product. Learn how to do it easily.

Before starting the descaling cycle

The time to complete descaling is about 30 minutes, including descaling cycle and flushing cycle.

Once the descaling process is started, it must be carried out until the final completion.

Please use Saeco/ Philips descaling solution CA7600 or CA6701, do not use vinegar as descaling agent.

Before we begin:

Empty the drip plate.

During the descaling process, please prepare a water container.

Remove the INTENZA+ filter from the tank (if any).

Remove Pannarello / Cappuccinatore / automatic foam dispenser (if any).

If the machine has a fresh milk box design, add water to the MIN scale in the fresh milk box, and then put it into the machine.

Descaling preparation

1) press the MENU button and select the "de-calcium cleaning" symbol. Press the ESPRESSO button to enter the descaling procedure.

2) the detergent symbol will be displayed on the display screen.

3) remove the water tank. Pour the whole bottle of Saeco descaling solution into the water tank.

4) add clean tap water to the MAX scale in the water tank. Please make sure that the water reaches the maximum scale, otherwise additional flushing will be needed. Put the water tank back into the machine.

5) place a filling bowl below the fresh milk box outlet and the coffee outlet.

6) if the model is equipped with a fresh milk box, add water to the box until it is half full, then pull the fresh milk box outlet to the right until the "foam" icon.

7) Press the ESPRESSO or COFFEE button to start the descaling cycle.

8) the machine will begin to send out the descaling solution at regular intervals. The indicator column on the display screen shows the progress. The process takes about 20 minutes.

9) when the liquid of mixed descaling solution and water is used up, the "no water" symbol appears on the display screen.

10) thoroughly clean the water tank and add clean water to the MAX or Calc Clean mark, then put it back in place.

11) the "start flushing" symbol is displayed on the display screen.

12) if the machine has a fresh milk box design, empty the fresh milk box, add water to the Min scale, and put it back in place. Pull the fresh milk box outlet to the right until the "milk foam" icon.

13) put the bowl back in place. Press the ESPRESSO button and the machine will start the first flushing cycle.

14) when the "no water" symbol appears on the display screen, add clear water to the MAX or Calc Clean mark in the water tank. Insert the water tank and press the ESPRESSO button to start the second flushing cycle.

15) the "ready" symbol appears on the display screen, indicating that the flushing cycle has been completed. Press the CAPPUCCINO or MENU button to exit the descaling program.

Important: if the symbol "Water Tank is empty" instead of "ready" appears on the display screen, you have not added the water in the tank to the MAX or Calc Clean scale. Please add water to the MAX scale in the water tank and rinse again. Repeat step 13 until the "ready" symbol appears. You may need to do this several times before the ready symbol appears.

16) this machine will automatically infuse the pipeline. If the machine cannot start this program automatically, press the ESPRESSO button to infuse the line.

17) after emptying the drip plate, put it back in place.

18) rinse the fresh milk box.

19) you can start using this machine now.
