It is expected that more than 1,000 coffee farmers and nearly 400 school-age children will benefit directly in the first batch. Starbucks '3.5 million yuan ($500,000) investment in the pilot project will be entrusted to Gift Asia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to charitable causes in Asia.

Starbucks has always been committed to improving the living standards of Yunnan coffee farmers and bringing high-quality Yunnan coffee to the world. In 2012, Starbucks established Yunnan Grower Support Center in Pu 'er, giving full play to its professional advantages and helping thousands of coffee farms obtain high standards of "coffee and grower fairness norms"(C.A.F.E.). Practices) certification, a total of 17,000 farmers have provided standardized cultivation training. And by promoting the procurement principle of "high quality and good price", it leads the industry standard and brings more rich returns to coffee farmers who grow high-quality coffee beans. "I have been growing coffee for 18 years, and these years because the quality of our coffee does not meet the requirements of fine coffee, it has not been sold, and the children have to go out to work." We always wanted technical experts to guide us in growing high-quality coffee and help us sell it at a better price. Then my granddaughter can go to a good school, and the children can come back to us, and our family will be reunited." said Yan Zuyun, 64, a local coffee farmer.

Starbucks Yunnan Public Welfare Project creatively adopts comprehensive solutions, which will not only help coffee farmers improve the quality of coffee planted, but also focus on supporting the development of the next generation of coffee farmers. Through long-term cooperation with local schools and educators, we provide health check-ups and more high-quality teachers 'study guidance for poor school students, helping them lay a good foundation for education and have the opportunity to realize their dreams and change their destiny. Through cooperation with the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, nearly 400 children in Conggang Village and Nankang Village Primary School will enjoy more than 400 hours of extracurricular tutoring per person per year, including learning guidance and interest and skill development. In the future, the scope will be gradually expanded in stages to eventually cover 6000 school-age children in 30 villages in Yunnan.
