When did coffee enter China?

Taiwan Province was the first coffee grower in China. Date: 1884

The earliest and well-known: Zhukula Village in Dali, Yunnan Province, was planted by French missionary Tian Deneng. Date: 1892

Early but unknown: Jingji, an English missionary in Ruili Jingpo, Yunnan Province, was introduced and planted. Date: 1893

1908 Hainan introduced coffee, but the effect is not very good, there are several areas have also been planted, there are no good results.

In 1952, the scientific and technical personnel of Mangshi Branch of Yunnan Agricultural Experimental Field brought more than 70 kilograms of fresh fruit from Nongxian Village to Lujiangba in Baoshan City for trial planting, and found that they had good adaptability and good quality, and continued to grow.

In the late 1980s, Nestl é began to introduce Katim coffee in Simao area of Yunnan Province (now Pu'er City). Since then, the planting area of Chinese coffee began to increase, and the quality has been greatly improved in the continuous exploration.

The suitable growth environment makes coffee beans exuberant for survival, supplying the daily needs of Yunnan people. Yunnan coffee used to be planted and produced relatively extensively, mainly based on quantity. However, Yunnan has unique natural conditions, which is naturally suitable for the growth of high-quality coffee.

The beauty of Yunnan is not only reflected in the strange and diverse landforms and the repair of magnificent mountain scenery, how far away the "authentic scenery" has also tightly grasped people's taste buds, Yunnan coffee has become one of them.
