CKK coffee in North Kivu, Congo, comes from a cooperative, Cooperative Kawa Kabuya (CKK), located in the north of Lake Kivu. CKK was co-founded in July 2014 by farmers in the Lubero Region district of West Virunga National Park (Virunga National Park) and the Beni Region district of the North District.

Since 2014, CKK has set up 13 micro-processing plants and 36 strongholds, which are distinguished by micro-washing plants among its members, and have the functions of production, harvest, post-treatment and even marketing in the organization. The long-standing civil war in the two regions of Lubelo and Beni has led to a malignant decline in coffee quality and production, which has led to the smuggling of a large amount of coffee to neighboring Uganda. The primary purpose of the establishment of CKK is to rebuild the hope of coffee industry for farmers in the two regions, and to return the benefits directly to farmers so as to improve the quality of regional coffee.

CKK's overall output in 2014 was only 1 container of commercial bean coffee, and after long-term efforts, the annual output in 2016 was 3 containers of boutique coffee. CKK Coffee has won several competitions, including the first place in Uganda Taste of Harvet in 2017, the first place in Congo Taste of Harvet in 2016, and the first place in Congo Taste of Harvet for three consecutive years in CKK in 2017.
