When is the best time for coffee trees to cut off their "branches and leaves" as a "cover" in the coffee garden? According to experience, it must be based on the coffee tree rest-flowering-fruit-maturity-harvest and other five seasons with plum rainy season, dry season climate, fertilizer management, weeding management and other factors comprehensive consideration, why consider so many factors? The reasons are as follows:

(1) the weeds removed and pruning and pruning will be used as the "cover" in the coffee garden: the Hsinchu area usually has a winter rain season from January to February, and the plum rainy season falls from April to May. July to September in summer is the afternoon thundershower or typhoon season, October to December is the dry season, and the best time for weeding in Hsinchu area is in March, June and September (usually adjusted according to the rainy season). The second pruning of branches and leaves will be chosen from May to July, because after the coffee trees have finished blooming and fruiting, they will grow a large number of new branches and leaves with the help of Meiyu, and with the second weeding and topdressing, it is easier to prune "branches and leaves" in the coffee garden.

(2) the first pruning of "branches and leaves" is quite different from the second pruning of "branches and leaves". The first pruning of "branches and leaves" is a thorough arrangement of coffee trees. The branches and leaves of coffee trees that are less than 30 centimeters and more than 2 meters above the ground must be completely cut off, and the branches and leaves of coffee trees are arranged according to the size of the branches that coffee trees can carry. Usually, the branches and leaves of the main branches of coffee trees are retained about 20 to 30.
