Since 2012, coffee leaf rust has ravaged most of Latin America, affecting El Salvador. From 2012 to 2014, total coffee production in El Salvador fell by 60%. The devastating impact on coffee and coffee growers is incalculable. El Salvador is especially because it is, over the years, one of the darlings of high-end coffee, with a large number of unique varieties of bourbon and Pacamara both summarized in special cups-but, unfortunately, also vulnerable to leaf rust and, therefore, hardly popular in 2012.
