Fazenda San Lucia was run by Hercio Canero. He started making coffee as a teenager and was part of the Camo de Minas campaign to research and promote high-quality coffee. Helcio, who finished sixth in the 2016 Cup of Excellence (COE) program, is known for the success and consistency of his yellow bourbon coffee. In 1970, at the age of 20, he began growing coffee, continuing the family tradition of working on coffee farms (he also married the daughter of Fazenda Santa Lucia's former boss). He runs the farm with his wife, Glycia Pereira Carneiro, and raises four children in the coffee business, hoping they will one day take over.
