Ethiopian coffee is usually purchased through the Ethiopian Coffee Exchange (ECX). In the past, ECX has proved to be a challenging place to buy coffee with transparency and traceability. In 2018, ECX made some changes to restore traceability for coffee traded through the system, and licensed exporters can sell coffee outside ECX. Now give them the scope to find and develop high-quality coffee and eventually match the right coffee with the right buyer.

SNAP COFFEE has been operating as a licensed exporter of Ethiopian coffee for more than a decade, and with recent system changes, they have been given a unique opportunity to enter the professional market. Until 2018, coffee traded through ECX was stripped of data, and important information, such as farms, regions, varieties and even water content, was lost in the process of land consolidation and division.

Nagus's commitment to professional coffee was led by Nagus, who surrounded himself with the right coffee professionals and began to invest in the education of remote farmers through training in processing and cleaning methods (those who sell cherries to SNAP washing stations, also known as Deri-Teshome Gemechu). They have also invested in waste recycling systems, with the goal of getting most coffees organically certified by 2021.

Ethiopian Deri coffee is the product of coffee farmers in the Guji region, plus SNAP's investment in washing stations, education and relations in the Ethiopian specialty market. For farmers, roasters and coffee drinkers, this coffee is the pinnacle of the unique growth of premium coffee.
