Story of Rwanda Coffee processing Plant Flavor characteristics of Boutique Coffee growing Environment in Gesak, Rwanda
Two days ago, Rwandan coffee beans were found in Qianjie, not from any manor but from Gesak washing processing station. Very interested in this phenomenon, is it like Kenyan coffee that small coffee farmers send their coffee to the washing station?
After checking the data, it was found that this is true. Many coffee farmers in Rwanda are unable to create large independent washing stations like large coffee farms around the world. Most farmers only grow coffee as part-time jobs, usually using the rest of their farms to grow food. That's why there are a lot of coffee mills.
Next, I'd like to introduce some coffee processing plants in Rwanda.
Bugoyi is one of six washing stations run by Emmanuel Rusatira and his family. Since 2017, out of his devotion and love for coffee, he has been processing all-washed, natural and honey. The location on the shore of Lake Kivu brings breeze and soft sunlight, making it ideal for evenly cooling and drying coffee beans. 80% of the workers at the Bugoi washing station are women. Damascen Ntibiramira is the stationmaster of the Bugoi washing station. He is an expert in mobilization, making Bugoy attractive to many farmers. Adelphine Nyiranzabonimpaye is a quality manager and has worked in the coffee industry for seven years. She is responsible for supervising the drying of coffee and is an important part of Baho Coffee. Work closely with 1500 local small farmers who take cherries to the cleaning station on foot or by bike.
The Rwandan Gesak coffee on the front street comes from the nyamasheke plateau.
This spectacular harvest grows around the Albertine Rift Valley Mountains, and Lake Kivu is one of the Great Lakes in Africa and the country's western border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The area has excellent coffee growing conditions and a plateau rich in volcanic soil, with an average elevation of about 1700-2100 meters.
Horizo n Supreme is a washing station in the mountains of southern Rwanda, which offers some of the country's boutique coffee products with high altitude and abundant rainfall.
The owner, Leo Fidele Ndagijimana, bought the wet mill from the previous owner, who failed to operate the wet mill and was unable to process coffee for years. After purchasing the washing station at the end of 2018, Fidel replaced and repaired the machine in the factory. He used his experience in managing washing stations in western Rwanda to create new quality benchmarks.
The excellent trader also won himself more land near the processing plant to grow coffee.
Ngororero, Rwanda is a washing station worthy of close attention. The area where Ngororero is located has high potential for fine and fruit-shaped cupping profiles.
Caffeine from Ngororero is famous all over the world for its excellent quality and taste. In October 2018, Ngororero Station won the two highest awards of the Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award. More than 1500 coffee consumers around the world love coffee more than all other contestants and award it the Coffee lover Award. You can find a complete review of the event here.

The quality of Qianjie Huakui coffee beans has always been very excellent. The boutique coffee was harvested near the city of Hambella in the Guji region of Ethiopia. The area is more than 2000 meters above sea level. Few plantations are located at this altitude, which is why this naturally processed coffee has a rich fruity flavor and a sweet return of sugar. Huakui in Qianjie is from Shanquan treatment plant.
