As we all know, one of the joys of tasting hand-made coffee is that you can taste the various unique flavors hidden in coffee. For example, what flowers, fruits, spices, chocolates, etc. are all things we can taste in coffee. It is a very unique experience.

But friends often report that the coffee they make is never as fragrant as it smells in a coffee shop, and the flavor of coffee they drink is never as concrete. So they want to ask if there is any way to improve the flavor of the coffee. Let the coffee they make have a strong aroma as the aroma that comes from the shop. Of course there is! Qianjie also shared a lot of related content for this purpose. If you plan to make your brewed coffee taste as delicious as it is in a coffee shop, then these two details should be noted.

1. Try to use "fresh" coffee beans If you want to make a cup of coffee with a strong aroma, the coffee beans used must have a rich aroma. It is said that a clever woman cannot make a meal without rice. If the coffee beans themselves do not have rich aroma, no matter how hard we squeeze and extract, we cannot make a coffee with strong aroma. So first of all, it is best to choose coffee beans that are relatively "fresh". The "fresh" mentioned in Qianjie here refers to the coffee beans that have been roasted and then within the taste appreciation period. Because most of the aroma substances in coffee itself are volatile, they will continue to evaporate outward after roasting is completed. So when the coffee beans we use are fresher, the more aroma substances will be retained in their bodies, so it will naturally be easier for us to rush out the coffee with strong aroma. This is why the coffee beans shipped by Qianjie Coffee are freshly roasted within 5 days, because the aroma of fresh coffee beans is the strongest.

Of course, it doesn't have to be coffee beans that have only been baked for a few days. As long as they are stored properly, they can be regarded as fresh within two months from the time the coffee beans are baked, and the coffee brewed with them will have a strong aroma.

2. Adequate extraction If the coffee beans we use are fresh enough, then the next question to be considered is how to completely dissolve these aromas, that is, how to achieve adequate extraction. This is also the reason why the aroma of coffee brewed by many friends is not strong enough: the extraction is not so sufficient, especially when brewing very fresh coffee beans.

Although the fresher coffee beans retain more aroma, they will also be more difficult to drink. After all, in addition to aroma, fresh coffee beans also contain a large amount of carbon dioxide in their bodies. Although the presence of carbon dioxide can delay the loss of aroma, they can also hinder extraction, making it impossible for us to easily dissolve the flavor substances in coffee. Not just when brewing fresh coffee beans, many friends use parameters when brewing coffee because they are worried about over-extracting, such as low water temperature or rough grinding, in order to avoid the risk of over-extracting. But sometimes this method will cause the coffee we rush out to be extracted insufficiently. Because the extraction efficiency is low, not enough things are dissolved and the aroma is not so strong.

Therefore, if we want the brewed coffee to have a strong aroma and obvious flavor, in addition to using fresh coffee beans, we also need to fully extract it, that is, fully dissolve the aroma substances in the coffee. How can we achieve adequate extraction? That is of course to find the right extraction parameters. If you don't know what brewing parameters are suitable for your coffee beans, you may wish to refer to the two parameters used by Qianjie. They are the brewing parameters suitable for medium and light roasting and medium and deep roasting respectively. The main reason why your parameters fall within this range, there is a high probability that the brewed coffee will be fully extracted and a cup of coffee with strong aroma can be obtained ~

When brewing medium and light roasted coffee beans with berries, floral fragrance, and citrus tonologies such as Qianjie Essay Grana Grissia, Qianjie Grissia Village Estate·Red Label Grissia, Qianjie Yegarshee·Fruit Tintin, the extraction efficiency of the parameters used in Qianjie will be slightly higher, because only in this way can we fully dissolve the flavor substances in the coffee. Taking the brewing powder amount of 15g as an example, the parameters are as follows: The ratio of powder to water is 1:15, the water temperature is 90 - 93°C, and the grinding degree is ground with fine granulated sugar. The sieving rate of No. 20 sieve of 75% to 80% and the extraction time are controlled within 2 minutes to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

When brewing medium-to-deep roasted coffee beans with strong nut, chocolate, and caramel flavors such as Front Street Sumatra PWN Golden Mantonin and Front Street Jamaica Blue Mountain No. 1, the efficiency of the extraction parameters used by Front Street will be appropriately reduced. Because these coffee beans are deeply roasted, have a higher expansion rate, and have a lower density, the flavor substances can be easily dissolved. Similarly, taking the brewing of 15g of powder as an example, the parameters are as follows: the ratio of powder to water is 1:15, the water temperature is 86°C~89°C, the grinding degree is slightly coarser fine granulated sugar particles, and the sieve rate of 70%~75% and the extraction time are controlled at about 2 minutes.

If you don't know what your grinding degree is or what screening rate is, then we can first find a suitable grinding degree and then mix it with the other parameters mentioned above for brewing. If the brewed coffee is not strong enough, is not sufficiently extracted or has over-extracted bitterness, we will adjust the grinding according to the lack of taste, so that the corresponding grinding degree can be found quickly and brewed to produce a good drink with strong aroma. Coffee ~ What you need to note is that the above parameters only apply to grown coffee beans. If the object we brew is very fresh coffee beans, then the extraction efficiency will be higher, and some other additional operations need to be done, such as pre-grinding. For details, you can refer to previous articles to understand. I won't go into it too much on the street.

So the above is all the content shared on Qianjie this time. In short, as long as you use fresh, strong aroma coffee beans, and then match them with sufficient extraction, the brewed coffee will naturally have a aroma and taste ~
